MERITUS are excited to be partnered with a growing Technical Consultancy delivering secure, business-critical systems and are looking for an experienced .NET Software Engineer to work with one of their secure public sector clients.
This role is well suited to a .NET developer who enjoys working on well-structured back-end systems, contributing to design discussions, and building reliable services in a regulated environment. You’ll be involved across the development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through to delivery and support, working closely with other engineers, testers, and product stakeholders.
The role requires candidates to hold active SC & NPPV3 clearances.
Main Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain applications using C# and the .NET framework (.NET 6+)
- Build and consume XML and JSON-based APIs to support system integration
- Work closely with stakeholders to support requirements gathering and technical analysis
- Write and maintain unit tests using MSTest to ensure code quality and reliability
- Collaborate with the wider delivery team to support secure, well-tested releases
- Strong commercial experience using C# as a core programming language
- Experience working with .NET Framework and modern .NET (.NET 6 or above)
- Hands-on experience with ASP.NET for building web or service-based applications
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs (XML / JSON)
- Experience contributing to requirements analysis and technical discussions
