Meritus are recruiting on behalf of a leading company in the Space sector. This is a fully on site role and individuals applying must be able to obtain SC clearance. About the Role We are looking for an experienced engineer to take full responsibility for planning, controlling, and executing spacecraft or payload Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) and Environmental Verification Testing (EVT) activities during the mission ground test phase. You\’ll be at the heart of our mission teams, ensuring our spacecraft and payloads progress smoothly from in-house build through to external environmental testing, and ultimately to launch readiness. What You\’ll Do Act as a core member of the project team alongside the Project Manager, AIT Manager, and Systems Engineer to deliver fully tested payloads and spacecraft. Manage and coordinate test operators and responsible engineers, deputising as required. Own the scheduling and facilitation of all AIT and EVT activities, including: Unit and system-level integration and testing. EVT test campaigns and logistics. Electrical and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment management. Harness and ground test cable definition. Test equipment specification. Develop and implement test plans, procedures, and integration strategies, ensuring traceability to system-level requirements. Operate as a spacecraft systems expert during system-level testing, ground segment commissioning, and LEOP activities. Prepare and deliver technical documentation and presentations for internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers. Maintain safe working practices and cleanliness in the AIT cleanroom. Support bids, proposals, and customer training programmes. What You\’ll Bring Degree or HND/HNC in an engineering or science discipline. Hands-on experience with spaceflight hardware, including integrated system testing at spacecraft level. Proven track record in test planning, scheduling, and verification/validation of requirements. Strong background in electronics and electrical systems; RF/communications knowledge is highly desirable. Experience leading test teams in high-pressure, dynamic environments. Familiarity with EGSE systems, materials for spaceflight, and electronic test equipment. Ability to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines. Strong technical writing, reporting, and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively at all levels. Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, and undertake international travel for test campaigns
