MERITUS are working with an expanding National Security consultancy looking for a junior to mid level software engineer to join one of their project engineering teams. The successful candidate will join an experienced team working on a variety of projects focused on the design, build & maintenance of secure applications & platforms for UK central government clients. They are looking for someone with experience programming in either Python or JavaScript (React a bonus) & active DV clearance is essential. This is a great opportunity for a junior or mid level engineer to progress technically, the hiring organisation are open on experience level & happy to provide full support & training to help the successful candidate.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assisting company & client teams in the build & maintenance of secure platforms & applications mostly using Python & JavaScript languages.
- Writing new system critical applications for high volume, high velocity record analysis and innovative query based on our user's requirements.
- Looking for performance improvements in the existing codebase, or researching and implementing new ways to store and query the data.
- Taking part in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to other team members commits.
Skills / Experience Required:
- Experience programming in either Python, JavaScript or similar languages.
- Knowledge of Linux based operating systems (typically RHEL7/8 based).
- Practical experience of diagnosing and fixing issues in a production system (both hardware and software).
- Active DV Security clearance.
- Aptitude & willingness to learn.
