MERITUS are working with a Systems Integration Consultancy based. We\’re currently seeking 4 talented Electrical / Hardware Design Engineers to join their Nuclear Division on client site in Bridgewater.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performance team that delivers cutting-edge solutions across highly regulated industrial environments. As a key player in their nuclear division, you\’ll contribute to a wide array of critical projects that power and protect vital national infrastructure.
This role is ideal for experienced engineers with a strong background in control panel design, PLC systems, and LV distribution. You will work on the full lifecycle of hardware systems – from initial design to final delivery.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and develop hardware systems using proprietary components, focusing on PLCs, MCCs, drives, controls, and switchgear.
- Create and review detailed electrical designs, cabling schematics, and containment system layouts.
- Support on-site surveys and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective engineering solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence within the wider project team.
- Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental regulations, as well as relevant British and international standards.
Skills / Experience Required:
- Proven experience designing electrical panels, especially with PLCs and low-voltage systems.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
- Degree or HND-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline, with significant hands-on project experience.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage clients and mentor peers.
- Eligibility for UK security clearance at SC level or higher is essential.
