MERITUS are recruiting for a Controls Engineer to join our client in Telford that design bespoke systems solutions for industries such as Aerospace, Defence, FMCG and Agriculture.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering team, developing PLC software, commissioning bespoke automation systems and supporting customers across a variety of industrial applications both in the UK and overseas. If you have a strong background in PLC programming and enjoy seeing projects through from development and testing to on-site commissioning, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you’ll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from PLC software development and system testing through to commissioning, customer support and operational handover. This is a varied role that combines office-based engineering with regular UK and international travel to customer sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify PLC software using Allen Bradley (Rockwell) and Siemens S7 / TIA Portal.
- Develop structured control software including ladder logic, statement list and function block diagrams.
