MERITUS are recruiting for a Business & Project Management Partner to join our aerospace client on an initial 6 month contract with high chance of extension.
A leading aerospace engineering organisation is seeking a Business & Project Management Partner to support the operational performance of a high-value engineering function responsible for complex aircraft systems. Working closely with the engineering community, the role sits within the Engineering Operations / Integration function and plays a key role in enabling effective delivery across multiple aircraft programmes. The team is responsible for ensuring strong project governance, performance management, workforce planning, and operational reporting across the engineering domain. The successful candidate will act as a strategic operational partner to engineering leadership, ensuring that programmes, resources, and performance are aligned to business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that business and project management processes are consistently applied within engineering teams.
- Support engineering leadership in maintaining a credible annual and multi-year workload, resource, and financial plan, aligned with internal programme requirements and customer commitments.
- Monitor and manage deviations from agreed plans, providing data-driven insights and corrective actions where required.
- Coordinate the mobilisation and governance of internal resources and external engineering suppliers, ensuring activities are delivered in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Proactively identify and elevate operational risks, opportunities, and changes in workload demand.
- Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to enable effective engineering performance management.
- Provide guidance and practical support to engineering teams on business and project management best practices.
- Represent engineering functions in governance reviews covering financial performance, resourcing, and delivery metrics when required.
- Support the onboarding and mentoring of new Business & Project Management team members.
- Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, operational best practices, and new ways of working across engineering teams.
- Experience in business management, programme management, or project management within an engineering or technical environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior technical leaders.
- A customer and delivery-focused mindset with the ability to operate effectively across multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Strong analytical capability with experience using digital tools for reporting and performance analysis.
- The ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- A proactive and curious mindset with a willingness to challenge existing processes and drive operational improvement.
