MERITUS are recruiting for a Production Controller to join our client within the Space industry on an initial 6 month contract which is very likely to be extended. The business is one of the largest Aerospace & Space companies worldwide and has a single stage interview process.
This role is crucial in managing end-to-end production planning across complex engineering projects. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring manufacturing plans are aligned, accurate, and on schedule - using systems like SAP, Primavera P6, and IPS/DDMS.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage detailed production plans across AIT projects using SAP and P6.
- Maintain accurate SAP master data including lead-times, attrition rates, make/buy decisions, and BOMs.
- Support schedule creation and updates (forward/backward pass) to ensure alignment with component lead-times and material maturity.
- Track and report unplanned work against project work packages.
- Act as a key stakeholder in shortage meetings and production Go/No-Go meetings.
- Ensure timely release of in-house manufactured parts to meet delivery milestones.
- Authorise MRP requisitions (up to £50k) and align material requirement planning with production schedules.
- Make material allocation decisions across competing project needs (e.g. Project A vs Project B).
- Drive production process improvements and identify cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain.

- 3+ years' experience working with SAP in a production or planning role.
- Strong knowledge of MRP and scheduling techniques.
- Proven experience managing project schedules and tracking progress against critical milestones.
- Industry experience in Aerospace, Defence, Manufacturing, or Communications.
- Comfortable working in high-pressure, results-driven environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at all levels.
- Experience with Primavera P6
- Background in the space or telecommunications sector
- Familiarity with BOM management, warehouse operations, or Kanban
- Understanding of business systems and tools
- SC-level security clearance (or eligibility to obtain)
