MERITUS are working with one of the world's biggest defence organizations for the recruitment of an Electrical CAD Designer to join their South London office on a permanent basis.
A key member of the Hardware Engineering team, this role will be to create and review electrical designs and drawings to deliver on a Defence maritime platform management project. Due to continued growth to support a high profile project, this role is increasing our existing Electrical CAD Design team capability and experience.

As well as developing and supporting UK wide and internationally deployed multi-domain command and control systems, our work is critical to the modern backbone of the Royal Navy. Salary: £50,000 - £59,000
Responsibilities:
- Produce electrical schematics using AutoCAD electrical
- Support the creation and management of Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Provide electrical engineering support to the Electrical Design Engineering team
- Develop component libraries to support schematics
- Review electrical schematics in accordance with relevant standards and internal Computer Aided Design (CAD) processes
- Maintain documents and drawings through development and production changes
- Collaboratively support other engineering functions from a mechanical drawing perspective
- Raise and action Change Notes (CN)
- Manage and adhere to configuration management processes for baseline control throughout the full project lifecycle

We are looking for:
- Strong experience in an Electrical CAD position
- Understanding and working knowledge of electrical related Defence Standards, including Lloyds Register and other Military Standards (e.g. Def Stan 59-411)
- Proficient user of AutoCAD Electrical or similar
- Ability to work independently on own initiative, as well as within a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work under pressure in a complex and rapidly changing environment
