MERITUS are recruiting for a Component Engineer to join our client at the forefront of sovereign defence manufacturing supporting data queries on electronic, electrical, mechanical and material commodities.
COMPONENT ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £50 PER HOUR - 1 / 2 DAYS A WEEK ONSITE - BOLTON OR STEVENAGE - 6 MONTHS - UNDERGO SC CLEARANCE
SECTOR: DEFENCE
HOURS: 37 Hours Per Week Monday to Friday
The Component Engineering department plays an important support role not just within the engineering group but also within the wider business. You will be part of a multi-disciplined team completing administration activities, technical advisement, making requests to suppliers and responding to internal queries. You will ensure we deliver a comprehensive component service offering technical advice and ensuring accuracy of data.
Responsibilities:
- Processing and responding to support queries
- Processing component data (based on Life cycle status, Export Control and REACH/RoHS compliance)
- Working within departmental processes completing administration tasks
- Support for Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical or Material commodities
- Support continuous improvement activities
Skillset/experience required:
- Knowledge and experience of components and parts
- Engineering Degree or relevant experience
- Proficient in MS Office tools, Outlook, Excel, Word
- High concern for order and quality
- Able to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently
- Strong communication skills to facilitate communications with key stakeholders
