MERITUS are recruiting for a Transducer Engineer to join our client in a permanent position from their site in Yateley.

TRANSDUCER ENGINEER - UP TO £60,000 PER ANNUM - YATELEY, HAMPSHIRE - HYBRID REQUIREMENT

You will take ownership of acoustic performance and quality standards across both new and existing products, ensuring consistency, reliability, and continuous improvement throughout the product life cycle. Working closely with design, production, and systems teams, you will act as a technical authority on acoustic behaviour, supporting both development activities and in-service performance optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain acoustic performance standards and acceptance criteria across product lines
  • Support manufacturing teams to ensure consistent, high-quality transducer production
  • Contribute to the development and transition of new acoustic designs into production
  • Lead validation and verification of acoustic performance across the full product life cycle
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed acoustic requirements at early design stages
  • Investigate and resolve acoustic performance issues, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance acoustic consistency and reliability
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and international teams to align quality and engineering practices
  • Represent acoustic considerations in design reviews, product release activities, and supplier discussions

Essential Experience

  • Experience working with underwater acoustics, transducers, or acoustic systems performance
  • Strong understanding of acoustic theory, signal behaviour, and transducer technologies
  • Ability to analyse and interpret acoustic test data and performance metrics
  • Experience supporting product development and/or production environments

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience developing test tools, lab software, or acoustic analysis solutions
  • Practical experience with prototype build, testing, or electromechanical systems
  • Experience within marine, subsea, defence, or offshore environments

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Typically 5+ years' experience in a relevant technical environment
