MERITUS are recruiting for an Aircraft Fitter to join our client at RAF Valley in Anglesey to support a project for a minimum period of 12 months (with very likely extension). In order to apply for the role, you MUST have an NVQ Level 2 and 3 in an Engineering practice.
Responsible for supporting the movement, Line, and Base Maintenance of a rotary-wing H135/H145 fleet. This includes both on-aircraft and workshop-based mechanical tasks, ensuring aircraft safety and readiness.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform maintenance inspections and repairs under the direction of a Supervisor or Certifying Engineer
- Support daily flight operations and aircraft movements
- Conduct airframe, engine, mechanical, and electrical system maintenance per OEM instructions
- Carry out off-aircraft component and powerplant work in workshops
- Maintain hangar cleanliness and support aircraft handling
- Strong understanding of engine and airframe systems
- Use of test equipment related to those systems
- Current knowledge of Flight Operations, Line, and Base Maintenance
- Familiarity with UK Military Aviation
- Awareness of CAA Part 145 / Part M
- Completed apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent discipline
