MERITUS are recruiting for a Skilled Aircraft Fitter to join a major aerospace prime in Filton on an initial 12 month contract to support existing programmes.

- Inside IR35
- £28.87 per hour
- 25% uplift for overtime
- 50% uplift for weekends
- 12 months

- Must have NVQ Level 2 & 3 to qualify
- Monday to Thursday
- A400M core hours: Monday to Thursday 6:30 to 3:45
- Skilled apprentice background
- Start date: 04/10/2026
Responsibilities:
- Work from engineering instructions and understand aircraft drawings
- Complete tasks to the required standards
- General tasks include the use of power tools for drilling, shimming, and sealing
- 1 party certification will be required following successful completion of the relevant courses
- You may need to work in a confined space (tank work), which includes restricted and physically demanding wing access and egress through oval shaped manholes
Skill Set Essential:
- Aerospace or Engineering
- Full Apprenticeship Indenture and City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC ONC or Modern Apprenticeship Certificate, NVQ Level 2, 3, Key Skills level 2 and City & Guilds Level 2/BTEC ONC in a recognised engineering field
- Self-motivation with good communication skills
- An ability to work alone or as part of a team
- An openness to continuous improvement processes and new ways of working
- Knowledge and a high regard for Health and Safety standards
