Polymer Chemist in Chelmsford

Exciting role to join a successful manufacturer develop and improve a range of water based polymers. Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Polymer Chemist to join their small laboratory team. All levels of industrial polymer experience will be considered, and mentoring and training will be provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for the synthesis and manufacture of water-based polymer dispersions on a laboratory scale as well as supporting the development and formulation activities carried out by our team of application specialists in coatings and adhesives. Roles and responsibilities:Carry out polymerization reactions with water-based polymer dispersions according to established laboratory procedures.Accurately record experimental data and observations.Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and organised working environment.Assist application specialists with product development and evaluation programs.Follow and assist in all laboratory quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures.Essential RequirementsA sound understanding of polymer chemistry gained in an industrial setting.A Masters or PhD qualification in Chemistry / Polymer Science or equivalent industrial experience is preferred.A diligent, methodical, and organised approach to work.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate results.Good communication and teamwork skills.Previous industrial laboratory experience is required Must have the right to work in the UK, sponsorship is not available.Our client offers a fast paced environment, partnering international manufacturing companies.
