The Lantern Community Primary School is a busy and vibrant school based in the historic city of Ely. Our aim is to ensure that children shine their light in each community they belong to. Our curriculum enables the children to develop their own learning and shape their own understanding as they use prior learning to embed and secure new skills and knowledge.

This is a term-time only role - 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9am to 12 noon. Salary: £8,696 - £8,974 (Actual Salary per year) Grade 5, Points 5-7 (Level 2 Teaching Assistant). This is a fixed term role until 31st August 2026.

You will be part of a very friendly team working on a one-to-one basis with a child to support their learning, providing structured support and targeted interventions within a positive learning environment. This will be a varied role where you will need to be consistent and resourceful, adapting teaching methods to support the pupil's needs and celebrating successes along the way!

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support learning and well-being.
Qualifications:
  • Has achieved GCSE English & Mathematics Grade C (4/5) or above or equivalent.
  • Has a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or is working towards this).
  • Has experience of working with children in Key Stage Two.
  • Possesses outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team.
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues.
