PROJECT MANAGER - MERIDIAN ONE - Reading, Berkshire | Full-time | Office-based, with project site visits

MERIDIAN ONE is developing a data centre campus in Hickstead, West Sussex. We are looking for an organized, hands-on Project Manager to coordinate planning, design, supplier and delivery workstreams from our Reading office. You will work closely with project leadership and specialist advisers to keep decisions, information and commitments moving.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Coordinate planning applications and related technical inputs with planning consultants and specialist advisers. Maintain the submission programme, information requests, consultation responses, deadlines and decision log.
  • Coordinate consultants across planning, architecture, heritage, highways, transport, ecology, acoustics, landscape, drainage, sustainability and engineering.
  • Manage day-to-day vendor and supplier coordination across utilities, power, electrical systems, cooling, generators, UPS and construction packages.
  • Support RFQs and tenders by tracking scope, pricing, exclusions and lead times, and coordinating technical reviews with the relevant specialists.
  • Maintain the integrated programme, action tracker, risk and issue registers, procurement schedule and key dependencies. Escalate delays and decisions early.
  • Coordinate project communications with local authorities, utility providers, contractors and other stakeholders, including Mid Sussex District Council and UK Power Networks as directed by project leadership.
  • Organize meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and make sure actions have clear owners and deadlines.
  • Maintain document control and coordinate submissions for review and approval. Track consultant fees, supplier commitments, invoices and budgets with the relevant teams.
  • Prepare concise weekly reports on progress, risks, open decisions and next steps.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • At least 3 years of project management or project coordination experience in construction, infrastructure, property development, engineering, energy or data centres.
  • Practical experience coordinating planning applications or consent workstreams and managing multiple vendors, consultants or contractors.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, written communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Confidence working with technical specialists, senior decision-makers and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project schedules, Microsoft Office, Teams and structured document management. Experience with Microsoft Project or an equivalent planning tool is useful.
  • Ability to work from our Reading office and the right to work in the UK.

Experience with data centres, mission-critical infrastructure, UK planning or grid connections is an advantage.

A relevant project management qualification is welcome but not essential.

WHY JOIN

Work directly with the project leadership and take meaningful responsibility for coordinating a major UK digital infrastructure development from an early stage.
