About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Solicitor to join our high-performing Professional and Financial Risks team in our Sydney office. Ideally, you will bring insurance experience as a paralegal, graduate or solicitor and have at least one years’ post qualification experience, with a strong interest in insurance litigation. This is a unique role which offers exposure to complex financial lines and professional indemnity matters and a diverse range of disputes; including professional negligence, misleading or deceptive conduct, minority shareholder oppression, and advising on insurance coverage issues. This role includes the handling of professional indemnity claims on behalf of insurance brokers, financial planners and accountants (among other professionals) and providing insurance coverage issues such as aggregation, non-disclosure and notification. This role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to be heavily involved in all aspects of matters allowing you to make a significant contribution to their outcome. You will work as part of a close-knit team while gaining exposure to large scale, high value, and/or multi-party disputes, working directly with one of our high performing Principal Lawyers.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
- 0 -1 years PQE, where you have ideally had exposure to Insurance matters in a previous role
- A genuine interest in insurance and professional indemnity
- Firmly established time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- A sharp eye for detail and strong writing skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy
- A great work ethic and be keen to learn and develop your career
