We are seeking an experienced Aviation Compliance & Procedures Specialist to join a highly regulated aerospace company on a temporary long term assignment, based in Yeovil. This Regulatory Compliance Engineer role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of aircraft operations, regulatory requirements, and audit processes, who can ensure procedures are effective, compliant, and aligned with industry best practice.
You will play a key role in providing evidence-based assurance, improving processes, and supporting compliance across CAMO, technical, production, and maintenance teams. This is a great opportunity to work within a highly respected aviation environment, to play a key role in compliance, safety, and operational excellence, with an opportunity to influence process improvement and best practice whilst collaborating across multiple technical and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the subject matter expert for procedural and regulatory queries
- Provide guidance on applying internal operating systems and resolving conflicting requirements
- Conduct impact assessments on changes to procedures and regulatory frameworks
- Lead the development and improvement of business procedures and work instructions
- Ensure procedures reflect aviation regulations and industry best practice
- Support and guide internal and external audits
- Carry out procedure review audits (First Line of Defence)
- Identify root causes of non-compliance and implement corrective actions
- Track compliance metrics and monitor progress of improvement activities
- Deliver clear communication and training to improve process adherence
- Strong background in aviation / aerospace environments (CAMO, maintenance, or engineering)
- Proven experience in compliance, procedures, and audit activities
- In-depth understanding of aviation regulatory requirements and their application
- Experience writing clear, structured procedures and documentation
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage with stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Comfortable working in a highly regulated, process-driven environment
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant internal systems
- Experience with audit management and regulatory inspections are desirable
- Familiarity with CIETP and operating systems (e.g. LH-OS) are desirable
- HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline are desirable
