We’re recruiting for a Production Operative to join a long-established engineering company who have been producing their own premium quality products in Tewkesbury for over 60 years. This is a hands-on Production role working on small, high-precision metal components in a clean, organised and well-equipped factory. The patented products you’ll be working on will go on to truly make a difference in peoples’ lives.
You’ll be joining a business where people stay long-term, with vacancies generally only coming up through growth or retirement rather than turnover. With plans in place for the company to grow over the next five years, you’ll have the opportunity (if you’d like to) to develop your career in the direction you want – this might be taking on more responsibility or developing your skills depending on the path you’d like to take.
Your Role & Responsibilities as Production Operative:
- Carrying out visual quality checks on small metal parts.
- Making small adjustments to parts using specialist equipment (you’ll receive full training for this).
- Count, prepare, pack and label components ready for dispatch to the customer.
- Highlight any quality issues to the quality department (you’ll be shown what to look out for).
- Carry out any related duties as needed.
Skills & Experience needed for this Production Operative role:
- If you have some experience of working in a manufacturing environment or in a job where you’ve shown high levels of concentration and consistent accuracy this would be great.
- Experience of operating light production machinery would be an advantage although not essential because you will receive full training.
- This is quite a fast-paced job working with a high volume of parts so your experience of working in a similar environment will help.
- Due to the quality levels required in this industry, your excellent attention to detail is essential, taking pride in the work you’re doing will be important.
- You’ll be joining a small team, so we’re looking for a friendly, helpful, conscientious and supportive team member.
- You’ll be professional in your approach to work, willing to learn, self-motivated and committed to doing a great job.
- You will have a safe and efficient approach to work.
- If you have experience of working in a precision engineering environment such as aerospace or similar, this would be an advantage although again, this isn’t an essential requirement.
Benefits & culture:
- This is a stable, long-term opportunity with a company that invests heavily in its people and equipment.
- The workshop is modern, bright, clean and well-maintained, with all the tools and equipment you need to do your job properly.
- You’ll be supported from day one, working alongside experienced engineers in a team-focused environment where quality is the number one priority.
What’s on offer:
- Good pay rate
- Formal pay review every year
- Daytime working hours with an early finish every Friday
- Long-term job security
- Great long-term career prospects
- Regular overtime opportunities to boost your earnings if you’d like to
- 24 days holiday + all bank holidays (increasing with service)
- 6% company pension contributions
- Life insurance policy 2 x your annual salary at no cost to you
- Christmas shutdown
- Christmas bonus
- Clean, safe, bright and modern working environment
- Lots of free on-site parking
A note about confidentiality: Please be assured that I work in complete confidence.
