We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer to join a well-established and growing electrical manufacturing business. This is a hands-on role where you will play a key part in ensuring high-quality, fully compliant electrical products are tested, certified, and ready for customer acceptance. If you enjoy fault-finding, working with high-voltage systems, and collaborating with engineering and production teams, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a technically varied and safety-focused environment.
The Role
- Carrying out electrical testing and inspection activities in line with product certification requirements, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures, and defined workmanship standards.
- Inspection and testing of in-house designed electrical products.
- Calibration and testing of high-voltage electrical systems.
- Producing, completing, and reviewing test reports, certificates, and records.
- Accurately recording test results, anomalies, and deviations.
- Supporting FAT preparation and customer witness testing.
- Fault finding and repair of electrical and associated systems using schematics and assembly drawings.
- Assisting with manufacturing activities when required.
- Identifying improvements and raising non-conformances, engineering change requests, and JIRA reports.
- Setting up, verifying, and maintaining test rigs and fixtures.
- Troubleshooting test equipment and interfaces prior to testing.
- Liaising closely with Engineering and Production teams to resolve test-related issues.
- Ensuring tools, equipment, and test systems are correctly maintained and within calibration.
- Completing production job cards and quality documentation accurately.
- Maintaining clean, safe, and efficient working areas and adhering to PPE requirements.
About You
- NVQ Level 3 (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Experience working within the electronics or electrical engineering industry.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage electrical systems.
- A good understanding of Quality Management Systems, ideally ISO 9001.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A methodical approach, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.
