The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The Opportunity: This role might suit somebody who has been a Project Engineer / Maintenance Engineer (but more on the planning side) / Engineering Supervisor or Plant Engineer. You will need to be electrically biased and able to understand low and high voltage systems and work with and oversee electrical contractors. This role is critical to ensure that the manufacturing equipment, services, buildings and the entire engineering infrastructure are maintained and improved to meet the current and future demands of the business.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identifying, specifying, sourcing, and purchasing machines and equipment.
- Supervising sub-contractors, ensuring project implementation to time and cost whilst complying with all Company and H&S requirements.
- Creating project plans to support machine rearrangement, equipment installation, improvement, and cost reduction projects.
- Identifying and implementing cost reduction and method improvement opportunities.
- Purchasing parts and equipment for improvement works, collating receipts and raising purchase requisitions.
- Carrying out plant engineering activities, with minimal supervision, across the site including building/electrical infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
- Providing technical expertise, including data analysis, planning and execution to improve equipment availability and asset utilisation for the site.
- Identifying and making improvements to the reliability of equipment to reduce reoccurring faults and downtime.
- Assisting Maintenance undertaking fault finding across the plant and on the equipment.
- Implementing and driving reliability excellence (REX) on critical equipment.
- Creation and maintenance of technical files for new and existing equipment.
Preferred Skills:
- Qualified to a HNC or equivalent in Electrical or Controls Engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience.
- No other formal Electrical qualifications are required in this role but you will need to have a knowledge of low and high voltage electrical systems and schematics and be able to effectively communicate with and manage electrical contractors on site.
- Ability to identify and solve to root cause, repetitive reliability problems and write maintenance procedures.
- Ability to collect and analyse overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on critical equipment.
- CAD experience, full Microsoft suite and ideally Oracle useful.
