Are you an organised, detail‑driven finance professional looking to grow your career? We are recruiting for a proactive Finance Assistant to join this friendly, supportive Accounts Servicing Team within a well‑established rural property management business working across Herefordshire, Shropshire, surrounding counties and Wales. This is a permanent role offering a salary of £28-30k based on experience, working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (37.5 hours per week) based in their Hereford office on a beautiful client site near Kingstone.
This is a fantastic opportunity to build your own portfolio of clients and gain valuable experience across a wide range of finance processes. If you’re AAT qualified (or working towards it) and looking for a role with real responsibility and variety, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities- Managing client sales ledgers, including monthly rent demands, receipting payments and monitoring aged debtors
- Maintaining purchase ledgers, including invoice processing, preparing BACS payments and monitoring aged creditors
- Completing monthly bank reconciliations
- Preparing VAT returns, including Partial Exemption calculations
- Producing monthly management reports, client statements and cashflow analysis
- Preparing annual accounts information to share with clients’ accountants
- AAT qualified ideally (or actively working towards qualification)
- Strong understanding of VAT and experience with VAT return submission preferred
- Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail and record‑keeping
- Competent IT user – especially Excel, Word and Outlook, with previous knowledge of accounting software
- Willingness to learn new in‑house systems
- Committed to handling clients' financial affairs with absolute confidentiality
- It is essential you have your own transport due to the location of the office
- 25 days annual leave, plus public holidays
