Laboratory Technician
The Opportunity:
If you are seeking a Laboratory Technicians role within an interesting, growing business who work across a number of industry sectors, this could be the opportunity you seek. You will be required to work across a 4 shift pattern on a rotation (including some weekends with each shift being 12hrs, 6am-6pm or 6pm to 6am) which will reward you with a 15% uplift on the basic salary.
The Role:
- Analysis of alloy samples by instrumental techniques using; Combustion, Optical emission and X-ray Fluorescence Samples include preliminary melt samples, certification samples, and remelt samples from casting plants and external customers
- Preparation of samples for analysis
- Routine maintenance and standardisation of laboratory equipment
- Inputting of results tocompany database
- Calculating bath additions during heat manufacture
Preferred Skills:
- A science background with good mathematical and computer skills.
- Ability to interpret results and make decisions on alloy chemistry adjustments within the scope of the role.
- Flexibility to work within a small team to provide 24/7 laboratory cover with the ability to work across this 3 shift work pattern.
- Meticulous, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Able to work alone, self-sufficiently, and independently prioritise tasks.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Working Hours:
37.5 hours per week, WITH A 15% SHIFT PREMIUM4 shift pattern on a rotation (including some weekends with each shift being 12hrs, 6am-6pm or 6pm to 6am)
