Goods Inwards Stores Person (Temporary) Monday to Friday days | 37.5 hours per week | Witney, Oxfordshire Lunch time every Friday | Varied warehouse and production support role Opportunity to join a busy manufacturing environment Hands-on position combining goods in, stock control and production support Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of our client for a Goods Inwards Stores Person to join their manufacturing operation in Witney on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with warehouse, stores, stock control, logistics or production support experience who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in accuracy, organisation and teamwork. This is a temporary role to cover the short term absence of a colleague. Starting as soon as possible, you will be given full handover training until the 28th September, then you'll be required to cover for an additional four to six weeks, perhaps a little more, until the colleague is fully returned to work and working full time hours again. Essential requirement: Pedestrian Stacker licence The Role As a Goods Inwards Stores Person, you will play a key part in ensuring materials are received, stored, picked and distributed efficiently to support production activities across two local sites. Your Key responsibilities include: Receiving, checking and booking in deliveries safely and accurately. Maintaining stock locations and rotating inventory using First In First Out (FIFO) principles. Identifying and storing batches correctly against works orders and part numbers. Picking and distributing materials in line with the weekly production plan. Organising subcontract shipments, documentation and customer dispatches. Transporting materials between sites and supporting stock checks and inventory activities. Assisting production teams by ensuring components are available when required. Supporting with specialist part washing procedures and other operational activities as needed. Loading vehicles for dispatch and preparing pallets for shipment. Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.The successful Goods Inwards Stores Person will work closely with production planning, stock control and quality teams to help keep operations running smoothly and minimise downtime. Skills and Experience To be considered for this Goods Inwards Stores Person position, you should have: Previous experience within a warehouse, stores, logistics, manufacturing or production environment. Experience of stock control, goods-in processes, picking and packing. Good numeracy and literacy skills with strong attention to detail. A Pedestrian Stacker licence. The ability to follow processes, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure. A positive team-focused approach and willingness to support different departments. Physical capability to carry out manual handling tasks of up to 25kg.Desirable experience includes: IT skills using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. SAP or another ERP system. UK driving licence. Counterbalance and Reach Forklift Truck licences.Hours, Culture and Working Environment The Goods Inwards Stores Person role offers a stable Monday to Friday schedule: Monday to Thursday: 07:00 to 15:30 Friday: 07:00 to 12:30 37.5 hours per weekOur client is a well-established manufacturing business offering a collaborative team environment where accuracy, reliability and commitment are valued.
