The Opportunity:
We have the most exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with experience of either Applications or Project Engineering to become a central Project Engineer within this fascinating Engineering Manufacturer in Devon. You will fully utilize your CAD design experience, liaising with global defense customers, internal designers and project managers to realise the customers' requirements. It really is a great opportunity!
Job Responsibilities:
- Translation of Customer requirements into measurable engineering terms and then liaising between our Design Engineers, Project Managers and the international customers directly.
- Your role will be to manage multiple exciting projects at any one time ensuring that designs are feasible, that budgets are realistic and that product is delivered beyond the customers' satisfaction.
- Concept design, checking and sign off of drawings for manufacture and consistent liaison with project management team.
Skills Required:
- 3D CAD skills, ideally using Solidworks, and ideally in the automotive sector (although not essential).
- Knowledge of drawing standards, geometrical tolerancing and ideally welding specifications.
- Some experience in a Project Engineer or Applications Engineer role would be ideal, or the desire to move from a Design role into just such a position is a must.
- Good report writing and project information recording experience.
- An Engineering Degree is essential.
