Job description Our client, based in Basildon (SS14), are seeking a number of Assembly Technicians working on a variety of levels (Level 3 and level 4) .This is a full-time temporary position working 37 hours per week. Assembly Technicians Level 4 What you will do: Adherence to standard operating procedures and assembly instructions Adherence to quality standards of the production facility Contributing towards maintaining metrics used to monitor the production cells performance Being capable of managing your own time and workload efficiently Must be prepared to work as part of a team and be able to work unsupervised at times Essential Requirements: Experience of manufacturing of cables, wires, harnesses and soldering Experience of mechanical assembly (ability to identify a variety of tools, know their uses and how to use them) Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagram and follow technical manufacturing instructions Understands and applies established acceptable workmanship practices to all facets of electronic assembly Basic level of competence when using computers Desirable Requirements: Experience in manufacturing environments Experience in optical assembly or optics assembly (desirable, not essential) Experience of IPC-A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 Experience of PCB rework and repair or IPC7711/21 Experience/knowledge of concessions, production permits, quality notifications and generating defect records Competent using Microsoft Excel and Word Experience/knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP system Basic understanding of ISO9001 Assembly Technicians Level What you will do: Adherence to standard operating procedures and assembly instructions Adherence to quality standards of the production facility Contributing towards maintaining metrics used to monitor the production cells performance Being capable of managing your own time and workload efficiently Must be prepared to work as part of a team and be able to work unsupervised at times Essential Requirements: Ability to manipulate small complex parts repeatedly and with precision Ability to follow instructions effectively Familiar with using hand heldtools Takes a proactive approach to new working practices and techniques Attention to detail and quality mind-set Basic level of competence when using computers.
