Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing company based in Taunton. With a reputation for producing high-quality precision components and investing in its workforce, our client is looking to expand its team with the addition of a Precision Machining Technician.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing business where training and development are actively encouraged. Working within a small, supportive team, you will receive full training on specialist machinery and gain valuable experience across a range of manufacturing processes.
The Role
As a Precision Machining Technician, you will play an important role in the production of high-quality precision components, working as part of a small and collaborative team. Key responsibilities include:
- Mounting and preparing components for machining processes
- Operating machinery and carrying out associated production tasks
- Following engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions
- Cleaning, checking and inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Working to strict Health & Safety and COSHH procedures
- Supporting continuous production activities within a busy manufacturing environment
The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week on day shifts, Monday to Friday, with flexibility around working hours where required.
Skills & Experience
To be considered for this Precision Machining Technician position, you will need:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, machining, engineering or production environment
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Engineering qualification, or currently working towards one through an engineering apprenticeship
- The ability to read and follow technical drawings, specifications and work instructions
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work
Our client is happy to consider candidates who have recently started an engineering apprenticeship and can offer flexibility around college attendance, provided you are able to be on site for the majority of your working week.
