Location: Gosport
Pay Rate:
- £16.00 per hour (Monday to Friday)
- £18.00 per hour (Weekends)
Start Date: 28/10/2026
Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts across a 7-day operation
- 05:00 - 13:00
- 13:00 - 21:00
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Prep Chef to support a military operation based in Gosport. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef with strong food preparation experience who is comfortable working in a busy, professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and food items to required specifications.
- Support the kitchen team with daily food preparation tasks.
- Ensure food is prepared safely, efficiently and to high standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area at all times.
- Follow recipes, portion controls and kitchen procedures.
- Assist with stock rotation and storage of ingredients.
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations.
- Support the wider catering team during busy service periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Prep Chef or within a professional kitchen environment.
- Confident carrying out food preparation in a busy catering setting.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen best practices.
- Must hold a valid Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working shifts across a 7-day operation.
- Due to the location and shift start times, candidates should have their own transport or live within easy commuting distance of Gosport.
- Free parking is available on site.
