Are you an Assistant Accountant or Part Qualified Accountant in the UK with experience or knowledge in UK and International Indirect tax reporting? If so, this could be the role for you. We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to work on a temporary basis at a large manufacturing site based in Yeovil.
You will be assisting with the monthly compliance around UK and International Indirect tax reporting and Employer duty compliance. You will play an integral part of the tax team supporting the day-to-day tax matters which typically include VAT and overseas equivalents, PAYE and other ad hoc duties.
Typical tasks will include:
- Preparation of monthly UK and International VAT returns
- Performing monthly reconciliations on all Employee Benefits in Kind with any irregularities investigated and followed up.
- Assisting with P11d, PAYE Settlement Agreement calculations, statistical returns and ad hoc requests for information
- Supporting the annual Short Term Business Visitor Reporting (STBV) requirements
- Ensuring tax general ledger accounts reconciled and journals posted
- Liaison and participation with other departments to discuss relevant tax matters
- Support the tax team as necessary with any ad hoc task
Essential knowledge:
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Part qualified
- Good Excel skills and ability to work with complex spreadsheets
- Some understanding/experience of UK VAT/tax requirements
- SAP experience is preferred
