About the Role: Meridian BusinessSupport is seeking a motivated and qualified Tree Officer to join our Client on a temporary basis to provide essential cover for a vacant permanent position. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of our arboriculture operations, helping to manage, maintain and protect the borough's valuable tree stock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and assess the condition of trees owned by the Council
- Provide expert advice on arboricultural matters, including disease, species identification, and structural integrity
- Coordinate tree surgery works under the direction of the Arboricultural Manager
- Assist in planning and delivering the Council's tree planting programme
- Conduct tree surveys and maintain the tree database
- Respond to public enquiries and concerns regarding trees
What We're Looking For:
- A candidate who holds a National Certificate in Arboriculture
- A strong understanding of tree species, diseases, and British Standards for arboriculture
- Experience working in arboriculture or tree surgery
- Experience working directly with customers or clients
- Ideally, a Professional Tree Inspectors Qualification (or is currently working towards one)
- A full UK driving licence and access to their own vehicle (essential)
