Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs, supporting them to live a healthy lifestyle and enjoy students engaging in sports?
Our partnering school are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicatedSports Coach to join their vibrant school in Swadlincote. This full-time, position offers the potential to become permanent after the initial 12 week placement.
In this role, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, including autism spectrum disorder, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will play a key role in their development and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and delivery of personalised sports coaching learning plans to ensure the needs of each student are met.
- Support students with their personal care and daily routines, always maintaining their dignity and safety.
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages independence, social skills, and personal growth.
- Monitor and track student progress to support their individual development.
Essential:
- Previous experience working with SEN students, particularly those with ASD/ADHD.
- A patient, empathetic, and caring approach to working with children with complex needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to engage with both students and parents.
- A proactive, flexible attitude.
- A Sports Coaching qualification or a level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification with experience supporting as a sports coach
- A DBS on the update service or be willing to have one processed
