We are looking for a skilled Generator Engineer to join a friendly and supportive team in the power hire industry. As a Generator Engineer, you will carry out major repairs, servicing, and overhauls on diesel and gas generators (20kVA - 2000kVA), both in the workshop and on-site across Northern England.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as a Generator Engineer performing repairs and rebuilds on diesel/gas generators, alternators, and control systems
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to ensure reliability of the hire fleet
- Diagnose faults and perform load testing, commissioning, and on-site breakdown repairs
- Maintain service records and support junior engineers
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3-5 years experience as a Generator Engineer or in power generation equipment (hire, construction, industrial)
- Hands-on experience with Perkins, Cummins, CAT, FG Wilson, JCB, or similar
- Knowledge of DSE or ComAp control systems
- Valid drivers license (CSCS or similar advantageous)
