We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join a specialist care home in Lowestoft, supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident care leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and who is ready to support the day-to-day management of a service.

Role Overview

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Home Manager in the effective running of the service and take full responsibility in their absence. You will lead, supervise, and develop the care team, ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, and person-centred care at all times. You will play a key role in pre-admission assessments, maintaining care plans and daily records, overseeing medication management, and maintaining strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals. You will also role model and promote Positive Behaviour Support, supporting staff to understand and respond proactively to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager with daily operations and deputise as required
  • Lead and supervise care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care
  • Monitor residents' wellbeing and ensure care plans are reviewed and updated
  • Oversee safe medication management
  • Lead on safeguarding in the absence of the Home Manager
  • Ensure compliance with CQC, health and safety, and infection control standards
  • Communicate effectively with families, professionals, and external agencies
  • Support staff training, development, and performance management
  • Promote a positive working environment and encourage resident engagement

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Home Manager
  • Strong understanding of CQC standards
  • Knowledge of safeguarding adults and referral pathways
  • Ability to engage with service users to understand and meet their individual needs
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with families, professionals, and staff
