We are currently recruiting for a temporary Caretaker to join a busy manufacturing environment based on the Rotherwas Industrial Estate in Hereford. This role offers a great mix of facilities upkeep and hands-on support within the production area. If you enjoy practical work, keeping things running smoothly, and supporting day-to-day operations, this is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and hardworking team.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and waste removal.
- Undertake minor repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, and other basic maintenance tasks.
- Monitor buildings, outdoor areas, and equipment, reporting any issues requiring specialist repair.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Perform manual handling duties as required.
- Keep all units tidy, maintain clear walkways and fire exits, and ensure external areas remain neat and free of debris.
- Assist with testing and assembly tasks within the production area.
- Support welding and fabrication operations, including use of the band saw.
- Passivate finished goods when required.
- Provide support to the stores team with deliveries and collections, particularly during busy periods or staff absence.
- Previous caretaking, facilities, or maintenance experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of tools and building maintenance.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, helpful attitude.
- Physically capable of performing manual tasks such as lifting, bending, and carrying.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Flexible approach to working hours when required.
