We are looking for a motivated and reliable Workshop Supervisor to join our growing operations team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced engineering environment and has experience within a heavy engineering industry.
As the Workshop Supervisor, your duties will be:
- Ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Managing a small team of engineers to ensure orders are on schedule.
- Allocate workloads and communicate job/projects progression.
- Make recommendations/technical decisions on orders.
- Checking materials and parts are available for projects.
- Stripping, inspecting, rebuilding, and testing gearboxes/transmissions.
- Fault finding/repairing hydraulic, mechanical faults.
- Completing reports and repair documentation.
- Bench testing rebuilt units before they go back to customers.
- Liaising with field engineers or customers about technical issues.
- Maintaining workshop cleanliness, tooling, and safety procedures.
The successful Workshop Supervisor will have the following skills:
- Experience managing small teams.
- Must be a time served Mechanical Engineer.
- Solid background in a Heavy Engineering/Mechanical Engineering role.
- Ideally have experience with presses/lathes/milling machines/surface grinders.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- IT literate.
- Confident and excellent communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
