This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive professional to lead and develop quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems across multiple manufacturing sites.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will be the driving force behind the company's safety culture and operational excellence. You will ensure all products meet internal standards and customer specifications while keeping the organization fully compliant with UK legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Excellence: Maintain and improve the QMS in line with ISO 9001, leading both internal and third-party audits.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate product quality issues and customer complaints, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Safety Leadership: Act as the site lead for HSE initiatives, conducting risk assessments, workplace inspections, and incident investigations.
- Compliance & Environment: Ensure full adherence to the Health and Safety at Work Act and support ISO 14001 environmental processes.
- Training & Development: Deliver toolbox talks, health and safety training, and employee briefings to promote a positive safety culture.
- Reporting: Produce regular QHSE reports and KPI dashboards for senior management review.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in manufacturing and a "hands-on" approach to quality and safety.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a QHSE or Quality Manager within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and ISO standards.
- Proven experience in conducting audits and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence staff at all levels.
- A valid UK driving licence, as travel between sites is a key part of the role.
Desirable Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards it).
- ISO 9001/14001 Lead Auditor qualification.
- Experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement tools (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
