Pertemps is recruiting for a hands-on Goods In Supervisor to join a busy warehouse operation in Banbury. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will lead the Goods In team and take responsibility for ensuring incoming deliveries are received, checked and processed accurately and efficiently. This is a practical supervisory position requiring someone who is comfortable leading from the front. While your main responsibility will be coordinating the department and managing the team, you must also be prepared to support with unloading and other operational duties when required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervising and supporting the Goods In team
  • Planning daily workloads and allocating tasks
  • Coordinating incoming deliveries and ensuring they are processed efficiently
  • Checking delivery paperwork against incoming stock
  • Investigating and resolving stock or delivery discrepancies
  • Accurately updating the warehouse management system
  • Liaising with drivers, suppliers and other warehouse departments
  • Monitoring productivity and maintaining high operational standards
  • Coaching, supporting and developing team members
  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe Goods In area
  • Assisting with unloading vehicles during busy periods or to cover absence
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience supervising or leading a warehouse team
  • Good knowledge of Goods In and stock-control processes
  • Experience checking delivery paperwork and updating warehouse systems
  • A hands-on leadership style and willingness to support the operation
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to manage a team
  • A reliable and flexible approach to work
  • A good understanding of warehouse health and safety
  • Previous experience operating warehouse MHE would be beneficial, although this is not essential.
