HGV Class 2 Driver

Pay: £19.27 - £22.18 per hour

Location: Swindon

Contract: Ongoing, flexible shifts

About the role:

Pertemps are proud to be working in partnership with Royal Mail, the UK's designated Universal Postal Service Provider, to recruit HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers based at their busy Swindon Distribution Centre.

As an HGV 2 Driver, you'll play a key role in the Royal Mail network by trunking parcels and mail between depots nationwide. With minimal manual handling and shifts allocated a week in advance, this is a role that offers both stability and flexibility.

What you'll be doing

  • Driving HGV Class 2 vehicles within the Royal Mail fleet
  • Trunking parcels and mail between depots (no multi-drop)
  • Maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism at all times
  • Ensuring compliance with WTD and drivers' hours regulations
  • Carrying out necessary vehicle checks and completing digital tacho entries

What we need from you

  • A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, held for at least 2 years with 180+ days' recent commercial driving experience (insurance requirement)
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • Maximum of 5 penalty points (no DD/DR/IN/CD/TT endorsements)
  • Good geographical knowledge and strong professional standards
  • Ability to carry out manual entries on a digital tachograph card
  • Willingness to complete a DBS security check
  • Successful completion of a site assessment and induction before first shift
