Working Hours: Average 36 hours per week on rotating shifts:

  • Week 1 - Mon-Thu 05:45-13:45, Fri 06:00-15:00
  • Week 2 - Mon-Thu 13:30-22:15

Location: Chester (Cheshire)

Salary: £16.44 per hour (including shift allowance)

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Process Operator will be responsible for operating and monitoring manufacturing processes within a designated production cell. Full cross-training will be provided. This role involves the production of sheet lead using a variety of machinery, including rolling mills, slitters, and saws, while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve daily production targets in line with departmental requirements
  • Identify, report, and escalate equipment faults or issues that could impact production
  • Ensure all machinery and operating conditions are correctly set prior to manufacture
  • Accurately record production output and other operational data as required
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times
  • Adhere to all company systems, procedures, and health & safety standards

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environment
  • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (beneficial but not essential)
  • Strong team-working skills
  • Flexible and reliable approach to work
