Pertemps are working in partnership with Royal Mail to recruit flexible, professional LGV C+E drivers who are willing to relocate for a minimum of 6 weeks to help deliver the forthcoming busy Christmas period. LGV Class 1 Drivers will be required to trunk both mail and parcels around the Royal Mail network. You will be working to tight schedules, with measured and monitored running times whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety throughout.

This is a vital role within Royal Mail and all Drivers are required to be flexible to work all requested shifts within contract duration. The project starts from 10th November 2025 running through until 4th January 2026.

Upon successfully completing both security clearance and a driving assessment and to reward those for their willingness to relocate, HGV/ LGV/ Class 1 Drivers will receive:

  • A rota based on any 5 out of 7 days with a minimum of 8 hours daily. A 6th shift will be available wherever legal to complete.
  • Mileage paid from home address (within Scotland, Wales, and England only) to and from the allocated hotel at start and end of assignment at 45 pence per mile (1 return trip paid in total).
  • Block-booked paid hotel accommodation, including breakfast and 1 meal per day for the contract duration.
  • £15 per day subsistence payment @ 7 days per week = £105 paid weekly.
  • Weekly relocation payment accrued and paid at end of assignment for each full week (5 shifts per week) attended, paid @ £240 per week.

NOTE: This is paid in a lump sum at the end of the project, you must work a minimum of 5 shifts per week (which will include weekends) for the project duration, to receive the bonus. Project duration will be a minimum of 4 weeks and a maximum of 8 weeks. This will be discussed with you prior to acceptance of the project.

Holiday accrual PAYE pay rates from £20.82 - £26.95 per hour rate dependent on location (National or Outer London) & start times. Project duration as dictated by the client.

LGV/ HGV/ Class 1 Drivers must have:

  • Current CPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Held a LGV Class 1 licence for 12 months.
  • Max 6 penalty points.
  • For insurance purposes, we cannot accept the following endorsements - IN, DD, CD or DR.
  • PAYE drivers only; we are unable to accept limited company or umbrella.

Project start dates for HGV/ LGV/ Class 1 Drivers is Monday 10th November (to be in residence in your assigned accommodation / hotel Sunday 9th November for introductions and briefing). Full terms and conditions will be provided at the point of registration.
