Test Engineers Needed – Clevedon Location: Clevedon, North Somerset, BS21 Transport: Own transport required Pay: Weekly or monthly Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays, accrued pro rata Shift Options: Condensed – Contract (34.5 Hrs) Fri–Sun: 12:30–00:30 £43.00–£47.32/hr | Contract: ASAP–20th December Pay rate dependent on experience Holiday: Accrued and paid at the end of the contract PM – Ongoing (37.5 Hrs) Mon–Wed: 14:30–00:30 Thu: 14:30–00:00 £23.89–£24.91/hr | Temporary ongoing Pay rate dependent on experience £250 gift card after 4-month probation | £500 after 12 months Holiday: 25 days + 8 bank holidays, accrued pro rata About the Role Pertemps are currently recruiting Test Engineers on behalf of Edwards Vacuum, based in Clevedon. This role will support the testing, validation and fault-finding of advanced vacuum systems and associated equipment. You will be responsible for carrying out functional and performance testing, diagnosing faults, analysing test data and ensuring products meet the required quality and performance standards prior to customer delivery. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing and production teams, you will play a key role in supporting new product introduction, continuous improvement activities and maintaining high standards of quality and reliability. Duties include: Carry out functional and performance testing of vacuum systems and assemblies Set up and operate test equipment, instrumentation and measurement systems Perform fault finding and diagnose mechanical, electrical and system issues Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation Record, analyse and report test results accurately Complete test procedures and documentation in line with company standards Support product validation and qualification activities Identify root causes of failures and support corrective actions Assist with improvements to test methods, processes and equipment Ensure products meet quality, safety and performance requirements Support investigations into product issues and non-conformances Maintain accurate records and complete documentation Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment What We’re Looking For Previous experience in an engineering test, manufacturing or production environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Experience with fault finding and problem solving Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to analyse technical information and test results Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Experience testing mechanical, electrical or vacuum systems would be advantageous Knowledge of pressure testing, leak testing or vacuum technology would be beneficial Experience using test equipment and measurement instrumentation would be desirable Experience with data analysis or automated test systems would be advantageous Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls would be beneficial If you are interested in this role, please click apply now!
