Hours 07:30 - 16:00 with potential overtime opportunities.

The role of Fabricator Welder involves:

  • Working with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium components to the highest standard of finish.
  • Grinding, sanding, polishing and detailing fabrications to a required finish using hand tools and power tools.
  • Problem solving and decision making.
  • Able to work with no or minimum supervision.
  • Following daily plans and working to deadlines.
  • Recording all builds using internal database.
  • Communicating with supervisors on progress, issues and problems.
  • Being flexible and assisting in other departments if required.

The ideal Fabricator Welder will have:

  • MIG and TIG aluminium and stainless steel experience.
  • General education to include 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above including Maths and English, or equivalent.
  • Apprentice trained or time served.
  • A positive attitude to work, enthusiastic and committed.
  • Organised and flexible.
  • Knowledge of materials, grades of steel and metallurgy.
  • Knowledge of metal working machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to recognise welding symbols and specifications.
  • Knowledge of coding would be beneficial but not essential.

Location is York with site work as required.
