The Role:

Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Hours of Work: 12 hours shifts, Panama shift pattern, day shift only

The Role/Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and repairing blow and injection moulding machines, problem solving and resolving hydraulic faults.
  • Providing technical support on the machines, supporting the shift leader with machine setups, and helping improve cycle times.
  • Carrying out regular quality checks, proactively participating in improving Health & Safety within the organisation, and generating and carrying out engineering improvement projects.
  • Using workshop equipment such as lathes, welders, and grinders.

To be successful in this role, you will likely have:

  • Mechanically biased, ideally with experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in hydraulic fault finding and reading hydraulic drawings.
  • Experience with pneumatics.
  • Good process understanding and awareness, and can explain in detail how you approach fault finding.
  • Experience of using workshop equipment such as lathes, welders and grinders (desirable, however, training can be provided).
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn.

KPIs/Success within the first year:

  • Have a good operational understanding of all the blow moulding and injection moulding machines.
  • A good knowledge of the plastics process and be able to setup jobs on the machines.
  • The capabilities to fault find and repair faults.
  • Show your fault finding and repair processes.
  • Completion of training requirements, including; lifting & slinging, FLT licence, and robotics training.
