Hours of Work: 08:15 – 17:00 Monday to Friday, with one early finish (13:00) – early finish day to be confirmed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and rectification of engineering faults to maximise availability of machines and keep them in good working condition.
- Analyse existing mechanical processes and identify areas for improvement, looking to optimise throughput and reduce waste.
- Develop automation programmes, implement new automated products, and carry out routine maintenance of robots, tool attachments, and systems.
- Collaborate with multi‑functional teams to integrate new processes and technologies into production systems.
- Assist the tool change fitters with achieving tool change target times, and ensuring all tools and ancillary equipment are ready for operation.
- Set up machines when tool changes are complete.
Qualifications:
- HNC qualified with a minimum of 3 years post‑apprenticeship experience.
- Excellent fault‑finding skills.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritise based on operational needs.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally with plastic processing knowledge).
- Experience of automation technologies would be beneficial.
KPI’s/Success within the first year:
- Increase the production efficiency and up‑time of machines.
- Monitor machine downtime trends and resolve recurring issues.
- Contribute to the reduction in process waste.
- Make and implement recommendations for process improvements.
