The predicted salary is between 48000 - 48000 £ per year.

Hours of Work: 08:15 – 17:00 Monday to Friday, with one early finish (13:00) – early finish day to be confirmed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and rectification of engineering faults to maximise availability of machines and keep them in good working condition.
  • Analyse existing mechanical processes and identify areas for improvement, looking to optimise throughput and reduce waste.
  • Develop automation programmes, implement new automated products, and carry out routine maintenance of robots, tool attachments, and systems.
  • Collaborate with multi‑functional teams to integrate new processes and technologies into production systems.
  • Assist the tool change fitters with achieving tool change target times, and ensuring all tools and ancillary equipment are ready for operation.
  • Set up machines when tool changes are complete.

Qualifications:

  • HNC qualified with a minimum of 3 years post‑apprenticeship experience.
  • Excellent fault‑finding skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task and prioritise based on operational needs.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally with plastic processing knowledge).
  • Experience of automation technologies would be beneficial.

KPI’s/Success within the first year:

  • Increase the production efficiency and up‑time of machines.
  • Monitor machine downtime trends and resolve recurring issues.
  • Contribute to the reduction in process waste.
  • Make and implement recommendations for process improvements.
