Merge serves fintechs, investment platforms, marketplaces, and corporate treasury teams globally, helping them improve cross-border payments, liquidity management, FX execution, and treasury operations.

About the Role

Merge is looking for a Chief of Staff to support leadership on key operational and strategic priorities as we scale our business. This is a cross‑functional role for someone who is highly organized, analytical, and execution-oriented. You will work closely with teams across commercial, operations, and product to help coordinate initiatives, improve internal processes, and ensure important business priorities are delivered effectively. You will be supporting initiatives related to operational planning, client and partner requirements, vendor and banking relationships, internal reporting, cross‑functional project management, and commercial execution. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys solving practical business problems, bringing structure to fast‑moving environments, and helping teams operate efficiently as the company grows.

Responsibilities

  • Support operational priorities across the business, working with teams including commercial, operations, and product.
  • Prepare internal and external materials, including reporting packs, regulatory support documents, and partnership updates.
  • Support business reporting across key operating metrics, commercial activity, client delivery, and strategic initiatives.
  • Help manage follow‑ups, timelines, dependencies, and owners across important business projects.
  • Support vendor, banking, and infrastructure partner processes, including research, coordination, due diligence support, and relationship materials.
  • Support preparation for senior meetings, board/investor updates, partnership discussions, and strategic reviews.
  • Use AI tools and automation to improve research, reporting, documentation, and operational efficiency.
  • Take ownership of ad‑hoc business operations projects as the company scales.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in business operations, consulting, investment banking, fintech, startups, strategy, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and reliable in execution.
  • Comfortable working across multiple teams and managing competing priorities.
  • Able to bring structure to ambiguous or fast‑moving projects.
  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to understand business priorities quickly.
  • Confident working with spreadsheets, presentations, project trackers, and internal reporting.
  • Comfortable preparing clear written materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • AI‑native or highly interested in using AI tools to improve productivity, research, reporting, and execution.
  • Interest in fintech, payments, treasury, stablecoin, financial infrastructure, or regulated financial services.

Working Style

This role is best suited to someone who:

  • Is practical, structured, and execution-focused.
  • Enjoys solving for operational priorities across different parts of a global business.
  • Can manage detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Is comfortable working in a regulated, fast‑moving environment.
  • Has strong follow‑through and takes ownership of outcomes.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely.
  • Is low ego and willing to do both strategic and operational work.
  • Can work independently while keeping stakeholders informed.
