About the Role

Merge is looking for an Operations Lead to help build and scale the operational foundation of the company. This is not a traditional Operations Manager role - we're looking for a true 0-1 operator who thrives in fast-moving, high-ownership environments. You will work closely with senior leadership to build scalable systems, and solve complex operational challenges across a regulated fintech infrastructure business. Responsibilities

  • Building operational processes and controls within regulated fintech and digital assets environment.
  • Translating regulatory and compliance requirements into scalable operational execution.
  • Driving cross-functional coordination across Product, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial teams to deliver on key operations-related initiatives.
  • Establishing internal operational tooling, governance, reporting, and workflows.
  • Scaling operational infrastructure across onboarding, payments, settlement, reconciliation, reporting.
  • Supporting early operational hiring and team buildout.
  • Owning day-to-day execution in a highly hands-on environment.

Requirements

  • Experience building operations within fintech, payments, banking infrastructure, or regulated financial services domain.
  • Strong understanding of payment operations, settlement flows, reconciliation, treasury operations, and financial controls.
  • Exposure to fintech, and/or digital asset regulatory environments.
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in early-stage environments.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how operational infrastructure enables scale and revenue growth.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building processes from scratch.
  • High ownership and autonomy is essential.
