Our vibrant community centre needs a second cleaner-caretaker to maintain high standards of cleanliness and a friendly welcome for local groups running classes, meetings, and family events. Hours 12-15 per week on a shift pattern often early morning and/or late, when the centre closes.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
- Able to provide a welcoming, friendly and helpful presence for centre users
- Reliable and punctual: able to consistently meet scheduled shifts and responsibilities
- Strong ability to work effectively alone but within a small team
- Practical and resourceful: possess health and safety knowledge, have admin ability, cleaning and basic gardening skills
- Conscientious: take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional centre environment, both inside and out
- Independent: able to work effectively without close supervision and manage time efficiently with your colleague, line manager and specific members of the management committee
- Flexible: willing to work varied hours across a 7-day per week schedule. Able to work varied but predictable hours over a 14-day repeating rota
- Willing to offer holiday cover
- Collaborative: able to work closely with the other caretaker to ensure full centre coverage and deal together with issues that come up
- Able to be present in the unusual event of alarm call-outs, possibly during anti-social hours
The centre is open every day, usually from 9am to 10pm. Hourly pay rate £13.02
