Market Data- Senior Associate - Meredith Brown Associates in London

Our client, a highly regarded Investment firm is looking for a Market Data Senior Associate to lead governance, validation, and management of reference and metadata within the data operations function. You’ll drive initiatives to improve data quality, optimize market data sourcing, and automate vendor contract analysis and feed consolidation.

This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and compliance of market data across trading, research, and operations.

Role & Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain frameworks for reference data and metadata validation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and consistency across systems.

• Define and enforce data quality standards, ownership, and lineage documentation.

• Implement controls for metadata versioning, classification, and enrichment to improve discoverability and transparency.

• Lead the rationalization and consolidation of data feeds from multiple vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE, SIX, Markit).

• Partner with Data Engineering to integrate market data into a centralized cloud or Snowflake-based platform.

• Oversee daily operational processes related to market data capture, normalization, and distribution.

• Develop monitoring and exception-reporting tools for automated data validation.

• Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, and Finance teams to conduct contractual analyses — ensuring that all market data usage aligns with licensing, entitlements, and regulatory terms.

• Identify and deploy automation solutions for metadata validation, contract extraction, and data quality monitoring.

• Partner with Technology teams to enhance data pipelines, ingestion processes, and quality dashboards.

• Serve as the central point of contact for all reference and market data queries across the organization.

• Collaborate with stakeholders in Technology, Risk, Compliance, Trading, and Research to ensure accurate and compliant data delivery.

Background & Experience

• Approximately 5+ years of experience in market data operations, reference data management, or data governance roles within financial services or asset management.

• Deep understanding of market data licensing, entitlements, and usage rights.

• Hands-on experience with market data inventory tools.

• Demonstrable expertise in data feed integration and vendor management.

• Proficiency in SQL or similar query languages for data validation and analysis.

• Proven track record of automation or process reengineering within a data operations or data management function.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, or Azure).

• Exposure to AI-driven tools for document or contract analysis.

• Analytical & detail-oriented: High accuracy in managing complex datasets and metadata.

• Strategic thinker: Balances operational excellence with long-term data transformation vision.

• Collaborative leader: Builds strong relationships across business, technology, and vendor ecosystems.
