Our client, a highly regarded Investment firm, are looking to add to their Finance function by hiring an experienced and commercially driven Senior FP&A Specialist to play a key leadership role in the team in addition to supporting the daily responsibilities of the FP&A team and helping to shape the function moving forward.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts for key business areas.
  • Own and enhance complex financial models, including scenario planning and long-range forecasting.
  • Provide clear analysis of variances and emerging trends, with recommended actions.
  • Support senior leadership with decision-making through robust financial analysis and business cases.
  • Evaluate strategic initiatives, investments, and cost optimisation opportunities.
  • Translate financial performance into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across functions (e.g. Investment, Client Operations and other core functions).
  • Challenge assumptions and provide independent financial perspective.
  • Drive accountability for financial performance and KPI delivery.
  • Mentor and support other team members where required, providing guidance on analysis, modelling, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Review work outputs to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Contribute to building a high-performing, collaborative FP&A culture.
  • Lead initiatives to improve FP&A processes, reporting quality, and efficiency.
  • Drive automation and standardisation across reporting and forecasting.
  • Partner with finance systems and data teams to enhance tools and data integrity.
  • Champion the use of AI tools (e.g., generative AI, predictive forecasting, automation tools) within FP&A.
  • Apply AI to improve forecast accuracy, scenario modelling, and insight generation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce manual work and enhance decision support through technology.

Background & Experience

  • Approximately 6–9 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles.
  • Qualified Accountant ideally ACA or ACCA.
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with experience building and owning complex models.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools in a finance or analytical context (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Python-based tools, or AI-enabled BI platforms).
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, drivers, and business performance metrics.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning systems (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
  • Leadership mindset with a willingness to coach and develop others.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating with autonomy.
  • Strong interest in leveraging AI and technology to modernise finance.
