Our client, a highly regarded Investment firm with circa $60Bil of AUM has an opening within their Middle East Investment team for an Investment Associate. Candidates must possess strong language skills and be bi-lingual (Arabic and English) with experience of having lived in and worked in the GCC.
Role & Responsibilities:
- You will initially be allocated investment portfolios which will cover a range of institutional and family office clients.
- Portfolios will be largely managed on a fully discretionary basis by teams of three to six people. The aim of the portfolio management team is to specify, develop and execute the clients’ investment strategies.
- This will involve, among other things, the setting of long-term asset allocation targets, the evaluation and selection of third-party investment managers, the design and oversight of derivative overlay strategies, the research and generation of tactical asset allocation ideas, and attendance at client meetings to report on investment performance and discuss investment strategy.
- Help drive the firm’s business development in the region in particular by identifying prospects, engaging key leaders, participating in meetings and preparing meeting notes and follow-ups (including pitch materials).
- Perform due diligence on third-party investment managers, co-authoring investment strategy White Papers and helping to develop the Company brand.
- Be responsible for ensuring all information security processes, policies and procedures are adhered to and any issues or concerns are raised with the Cyber Security team
- Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, and any related issues are raised via the appropriate channels
Skills Required:
- Be an intellectually curious team player with a strong desire to further the Company’s reputation for excellence.
- Strong academic background with a genuine passion for financial markets.
- Good problem-solving and interpersonal skills and thrive in a collaborative working environment.
- Approximately 3+ years in a professional services role (e.g., within management consulting, investment banking, and accounting).
- Strong language skills and be bi-lingual (Arabic and English) with experience of having lived in and worked in the GCC.
- Be keen to commit to further professional development (e.g., obtaining the CFA qualification), which we will be supported.
